Saliena New Town, at 455ha, is one of the largest real estate project in the Baltics, situated between Riga, the capital city, Jurmala, and the Riga International airport. 

Waters Economics team members were economists in the master-planning consortium.  Their specific responsibilities included concept and market positioning, the analysis of potential target industry sectors to drive the new town development, and estimates of employment.  

Saliena targeted new knowledge-driven economic sectors to complement the retail, leisure, and new lifestyle residential development.
